Kapiʻolani New Media Arts Animation cohort's capstone project taps into world culture in this year's Practicum short, Daydreamer. Based on his experiences attending prathom (primary school) in Thailand, writer and director Pongsatorn “Vinsent” Trairatthitikan draws on animation and storytelling to delve into a theme of creativity and conformity.
Through their combined efforts, six animators– Troy Pascual, Kanaluhaʻaheokonalaniihaliiaekahauoli Pascua, Orion Helligar, Yuma Kim, Hiroaki Yamamoto and Vinsent– collaborated for just over a year to breathe life into their work. Their efforts are a testament to the creativity and dedication of the animators, under the guidance and support of their dedicated instructor, Jake Shimabuku.

KCC New Media Arts (NMA) is a two-year AS degree program located at Kapiʻolani Community College in Honolulu, Hawaii. The NMA mission is to prepare students for employment in the fields of interface design and animation.
