About Chris Gargiulo

Chris Gargiulo is a teacher, designer, animator, and filmmaker with experience in web design, front-end interface programming, print design, motion graphics, 2D and 3D animation for various film, web, and multimedia projects. He received his MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design and his BA in Fine Art from Amherst College.

Chris presently teaches full time within the New Media Arts program at Kapi‘olani Community College, part of the University of Hawai‘i. Prior to teaching at KCC Chris taught at Parsons School of Design in NYC, worked as an art director for Cheil Communications America and Samsung Electronics USA, as a designer and animator for KPE (a web agency), and as a graphic designer for Hula Girl Design. Some of his client work includes Sony, Samsung, ABC, Warner Brothers, Six Flags, Hasbro, Marvel Comics, Princess Cruises, and others.

Recent art work & shows include: Digital Stasis at the Digital Artists of Hawai‘i exhibition at Gallery ‘Iolani, H3 Google Earth video at the Aloha Ho‘omaluhia exhibition, Hanging in the Balance at the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, and The Interim: Intersubjectivity in Short Cinema at the Parsons Annual Animation and DV Film Festival.
