Site Layout/Orientation
A web site's layout and orientation is dependent upon the size and shape of the client's browser window. In order to collect accurate data for layout and orientation we adjusted the size of the browser window by dragging the lower corner of the browser window for each site and monitored how the site was positioned in relation to the changing size of the browser window.
Comparing the data from 2007 with 2008 shows that there was a 9% increase in fixed width centered sites and a 7% decrease in fixed width left justified sites. This may be a sign that the fixed width centered layout is becoming more popular.
