NMA Internship

Real World Experience

Teacher: Chris Gargiulo

This NMA Internship course is designed to provide real-world, supervised work experience with mentorship by a professional in the field, enabling students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to the work environment.

Internships are invaluable. Students get real world experience and exposure to the local industry and local companies get to work closely with NMA students and consider them as potential future hires. Ideal internships consist of a professional environment with creative projects with guided mentorship. Students are expected to be mature, reliable, strong communicators, and good team players. Several NMA internships have turned into full-time job offers.

Now that you have had a couple of weeks to send your resume and portfolio to local companies and organizations as you seek an internship, this is a good time to pause and reflect upon your current status as you prepare to make your internship decision(s) for this semester. This week, please check-in with me to report your current status (send me a DM via Slack) and if you have not secured an internship yet, don't give up! Give it another round of effort and be sure to watch the video for details on your internship options and decisions that you will need to make in the coming weeks. Good luck everyone!
